Mixing the Mai Tai Cocktail
Pour into the shaker in succession the following ingredients: 30ml Dark Rum, 30ml Orange Curacao, 30ml Campari, 40ml orange juice, 10ml lemon juice, 10ml Grenadine Syrup, and 4 – 6 drops (about 1/8 teaspoon) of Angostura Bitters.
Next, add about 10 ice cubes (filling 1/3 of the shaker), cover it, and use the rolling technique for about 1 – 2 minutes to blend the ingredients and chill the drink.
Note:
- To achieve the best flavor for the drink after mixing, the ingredients must be added in precise amounts.
- To perform the Rolling technique, first prepare 2 shaker bottles, alternating the cocktail back and forth between the 2 bottles for about 1 – 2 minutes.
- The condition to perform Rolling correctly is that the distance between the mouth of the upper shaker and the lower bottle should be 1 – 3 hand spans apart!
