How to Cook Milk Porridge
-
Rinse the rice
First, with 200gr of round rice you bought, rinse it 1 – 2 times with clean water, until the water is no longer cloudy.
-
Cooking porridge
After rinsing the rice, take a pot and place it on the stove with all the rinsed rice, 400ml of water, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt, then cover it and cook for about 10 minutes over medium heat.
When you see the water boiling, reduce the heat to low and cook for another 20 minutes. When the water has reduced and the rice has expanded, add 1 liter of fresh milk (with or without sugar), use a spatula to stir evenly and cook for 40 – 50 minutes.
Finally, when the porridge is thick and smooth, season it to taste, turn off the stove, keep it covered, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Tip: To avoid burning the porridge, you should stir it every 7 – 10 minutes! -
