Information about the ingredients
Cognac
- Cognac originates from the Cognac region of France. It is distilled from white wine, then aged for a period in oak barrels before being bottled.
- The wood from the oak tree has a fine grain, is waterproof, and contains a lot of tannins, which create the unique flavor and color of Cognac, distinguishing it from other types of alcohol in the world.
Cointreau
- Cointreau is a brand of pure liqueur produced in Saint-Barthélemy-d’Anjou, France.
- The main ingredient of Cointreau is sweet oranges, with a refined flavor that blends sweetness and bitterness.
You can buy these two types of alcohol at cocktail supply stores, e-commerce websites, etc. Choose reputable liquor sellers, and make sure to check that the alcohol has a clear origin, with the cap and bottle intact to ensure quality.

How to make a Sidecar Cocktail
-
Shake the cocktail in a shaker
Chill the glass by filling a Champagne Saucer glass (a tall glass specifically used for serving wine and champagne) with ice cubes, then set it aside.
Next, prepare the cocktail by adding 60ml of Cognac, 20ml of Cointreau, and 30ml of lemon juice in order, and finally fill the shaker with ice cubes.
-
Finish
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to mix the ingredients well.
Note: The shaking motion should be quick, strong, and decisive so that the ice in the shaker does not melt and dilute the cocktail’s flavor.Pour out all the ice in the Champagne Saucer glass, open the shaker, and then strain the cocktail into the glass to complete.
