How to make garlic butter bread with cheese

Mixing the dough
Add 1 beaten egg, 20g sugar, and 4g instant yeast into the bowl and mix well.
Next, add 200g of flour, 3g of salt, and 80ml of unsweetened fresh milk, and mix once more until the ingredients are well combined.
Tip:
If you buy yeast labeled “instant”, you can use it right away. However, if you have dry yeast without the “instant” label, you need to activate it with warm water or milk at 35 – 40 degrees Celsius, stir well, and let it sit for 5 – 10 minutes until the yeast expands into a texture resembling crab bricks. The water should not be hotter as it can kill the yeast or weaken its activity.

Kneading and proofing the dough
Use your hands to knead for about 1 minute until the dough forms a mass.
Then transfer the dough to a kneading surface, add 30g of unsalted butter and knead well for about 5 – 7 minutes until it forms a uniform, soft, and smooth mass that does not stick to your hands when touched.
Prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper, shape the dough into a flat round, and place it on the tray. Proof the dough in the oven at 30 degrees Celsius for 1 hour.

Making garlic butter sauce
In a bowl, add 13g of unsalted butter, 5g of sugar, 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise, 1/2 tablespoon of chopped green onion, and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic. Mix well until the mixture is combined.

Spread garlic butter and sprinkle cheese
Use your hands to press down on the dough to push out all the air, then use a knife to cut it in the middle into a checkerboard pattern.
