How to make Animal-shaped Cookies using an Air Fryer
-
Mix the butter and flour mixture
Put the butter in a bowl, use a spatula to mash it until smooth, then use a whisk to mix it thoroughly. Next, use a sieve to filter the mixture of 80g of sugar and 1g of salt into the bowl with the butter, and mix well to make sure the sugar and butter are well combined.
Tip: To easily shape the cookies, do not let the butter become too soft or melt. -
After the butter and sugar mixture is fully combined, add 2 egg yolks and 1 vanilla pod, and continue stirring the mixture in a consistent direction until the egg yolks are blended into the dough.
Next, use a sieve to sift the mixture of 200g of all-purpose flour and 10g of cornstarch, then continue to mix until the dough gradually sticks together and forms a mass.
-
Roll the dough and shape the animals
Place the dough in a piece of plastic, folding the edges of the plastic so that it doesn’t spill out when rolling the dough.
Use a rolling pin to roll out to about 4 – 5mm thick and then place it in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
After 1 hour, take the dough out, prepare the molds in the shapes you want, spread a thin layer of dough in the mold, then gently press the mold into the dough and transfer the shaped dough to the baking tray.
Repeat this process until all the prepared dough is used up.

Baking Cookies with an Air Fryer
After shaping the cookies, place them in the air fryer and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, let the cookies rest in the fryer for 3 – 5 minutes before transferring them to a rack to cool completely.
-
Final Product
The baked animal-shaped cookies are very visually appealing and adorable, and your kids will definitely love them. Especially, the cookies have a crispy outer layer, are soft and fluffy on the inside, with a mild sweetness, making them suitable for everyday consumption.
Tips for successful execution
- If your cookies are not firm enough, turn them over and bake for an additional 5 minutes in the air fryer.
- If you want the cookies to be softer and fluffier, you can add a little baking powder during the mixing process.
- Absolutely do not melt the butter before adding it to the dough, as this will make the dough difficult to bind and the cookies will not taste good.
