How to choose fresh and delicious ingredients
How to choose good quality pork ribs
- When selecting pork ribs, pay attention to choosing fresh ribs, which should be pink in color, have a firm texture, and no sour smell.
- You should choose ribs with flat and small bones. Such ribs have less bone and more meat compared to those with large and round bones.
- Do not buy ribs that are discolored, lack elasticity, have an unpleasant smell, or are slimy, as they show signs of spoilage and deterioration.
How to choose fresh corn
- When buying corn, you should choose fresh ears with green husks that are not dry, the tassels should still be soft and smooth, and the stalk should not be bruised or wilted.
- Choose ears with husks tightly wrapping the kernels inside. You also need to pay attention to the corn kernels; they should be plump, uniform, shiny, and straight.
- Do not choose overly large corn; opt for ears that are moderately long and firm since larger ears are often not sweet and have starchy kernels.
How to choose fresh carrots
- Fresh and delicious carrots will have a distinctive deep orange color, with bright skin. The skin should be smooth, without cracks, firm to the touch. The top should still be fresh and green, without being bruised or wilted.
- You should choose long, moderately sized carrots, not too large and with few eyes on the surface.
- Do not buy carrots with rotten tops, worms, or cracks, with strange smells and crooked bodies. These are old carrots that are difficult to prepare.
