Rye Whiskey
There are 2 different versions of Rye Whiskey, including
- American Rye Whiskey: a sibling of Bourbon Whiskey, described by many connoisseurs as stronger and more aromatic. Rye Whiskey is distilled with a rye grain content of 51% or more.
- Canadian Rye Whisky: often referred to as “rye whisky” because the majority of its ingredients come from rye. Canadian whisky must be aged in wooden barrels no larger than 700 liters for at least three years, and the barrels must not be new or charred oak.
Sweet Vermouth
- Vermouth is a fortified wine flavored with various botanicals, including herbs, spices, and bitter roots that make Vermouth unique and appealing. Typically, Vermouth contains 15% – 18% alcohol.
- Sweet Vermouth, also known as Italian Vermouth, Red, Rosso, is a type of red Vermouth that is bitter and particularly sweet.
Angostura Bitters
- Angostura Bitters is a concentrated bitters (made by infusing herbs) based on the gentian plant, herbs, and spices from the House of Angostura in Trinidad and Tobago.
- Angostura Bitters is often used to enhance the flavor of beverages. The liquor was first produced in the town of Angostura (now Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela), hence its name, but it does not contain angostura bark.
You can find these types of alcohol at specialty cocktail ingredient stores, liquor stores, or e-commerce sites. When purchasing, be sure to carefully check the expiration date, observe the appearance such as the bottle, packaging, and cap are intact to avoid counterfeit or low-quality products.
