How to choose fresh and delicious ingredients
How to choose, where to buy delicious and quality rice paper
- Delicious and quality rice papers usually have a light fragrance of rice flour, their color is not too white but slightly off-white, characteristic of rice grains.
- You should choose rice papers that are neither too thick nor too thin, but with a smooth and even surface without any dirt or foreign objects sticking to it.
- Additionally, to buy clean, safe, and quality rice paper, you should choose products that are packaged, with clear origin information and expiration dates, sold in supermarkets, large rice paper markets, Tastetutorial.com stores, or purchase online on the e-commerce site bachhoaxanh.com.
- The price range for 100 grams of rice paper is 10,000 – 11,000 VND (price updated in September 2021).
How to choose fresh and delicious pork
- When buying, you should choose pieces of pork that have bright colors, light pink or light red, with interspersed fat that is slightly translucent white. Touching it should have good elasticity and a characteristic aroma of meat, not unpleasant or fishy.
- To make the pancake dish more delicious, you should choose to buy pork belly to have both lean and fatty meat, helping the dish not to be too dry or too greasy.
- In addition, when buying, you should also choose pieces of pork belly with a layer of fat about 1.5 – 2 finger lengths thick and firmly attached to the skin with the meat. These characteristics indicate that the pig was raised in normal conditions without being forced, which affects the quality of the meat.
- Avoid buying pieces of pork that have a pale color, where the meat and fat are separated, and when touched, there is a yellow fluid because this indicates that the pig was raised with lean meat enhancers.
How to choose fresh and delicious shrimp
- Fresh and delicious shrimp usually have a transparent shell, uniform color, the joints on the shrimp shell move flexibly and still have a slight smell of seawater, not fishy.
- In addition, when buying, you should also choose shrimp that have their parts firmly attached to each other, with no slimy appearance and no lumps or grit in the shell.
- Do not choose shrimp with spread tails because this indicates that they have been injected with chemicals or water to make them plump.
