How to properly prepare and remove the smell from king crab- After buying the crab, do not place it directly into a bowl of water as they can be shocked by the temperature; instead, keep them in a cool place and sprinkle water on them.
- Lift the belly flap under the crab and use the tip of scissors or a sharp knife to poke into the hollow under the flap until the crab dies, then cut the ties on the legs and claws.
- Discard any excess parts such as the flap, gills, and eggs, leaving only the parts that contain crab meat.
- Use a small brush to scrub the crab shell and let it drain.
-
Prepare the marinade sauce
Add 100g of unsalted butter to a pot and melt it over medium heat. Next, add 3 tablespoons of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 tablespoon of pepper, a little salt, and stir well until the butter is completely melted, then turn off the heat.
Use a brush to apply or, if you don’t have a brush, use a spoon to drizzle the marinade sauce onto the crab legs. Marinate evenly both inside and outside the crab legs.
Note:- Set aside a little sauce to apply later during grilling.
- Depending on your preference for spiciness, adjust the amount of chili powder and pepper accordingly.

With charcoal grill: Light the charcoal until it is red-hot halfway, then place the sour legs on the grilling tray and start grilling. Grill each side for 5 – 7 minutes depending on the level of heat from the charcoal.
Tip:
- Brush sauce multiple times during the cooking process to help retain moisture; the crab meat will be more flavorful and will maintain its natural sweetness better.
- If you have an oven, you can also grill using the oven as follows: First, place the crab legs on the grilling tray and grill at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes. Then, open the oven and brush the remaining sauce on the crab legs and continue grilling for another 5 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
